![]() ![]() They all go through brutal losses that brings them down but also tightens their survival instincts to hunt down the killer toy. Jake, Devon, and Lexy make a good trio you root for all the way thru as chaos unfolds every episode. Season 1 was not only great at introducing new faces but also bringing back familiar ones. This TV show furthermore tells us his story is far from over. Sure some moments in them have went a little too far on the absurd side but it only adds to the sick charm of this homicidal dolls story. But still aside from that "Chucky" is a really fun, and promising series with good acting, fast pacing, some great callbacks, and some really great messages that help the show feel more nuanced.Ĭompared to many other horror movie icons Chucky has got it pretty well when it comes to his movies. And finally I don't think it's necessary to retell Chucky's backstory. And it kinda feels like they're struggling to balance that comedy, and horror. The style of the show while great, at times can get a little too much. I think that's a very great thing to talk about, and it added some nuance to the characters I have a few issues with the show. And finally this show really incorporates great messages about, bullying, and LGBT. There were quite a few jokes that made me laugh. Of course Brad Dourif is great once again as Chucky. Everyone in the show plays the role either really well, or so over the top that it works for this source material. This show is heading in the right direction Starting off with the good. With fun gore, quick pacing, and some surprisingly good messages. It's got all the things you'd want to see in a Child's Play show. "Chucky" is a very surprisingly enjoyable show. I am rating this 2021 series a well-deserved seven out of ten stars. Visually then "Chucky" is a joy to watch, as it is every bit as bloody and gruesome as the movies, and has all the wonderful witty banter from Chucky. ![]() I have nothing against gay, but it just becomes sort of a drag that is has to be forced in to be as politically correct as possible. Yeah, even in here, you have teen gay romance. I have to say that it is sort of wearing thin that everything that is churned out from Hollywood now needs to please that whole Woke movement. The storyline told in the 2021 series is good, as it is a mixture of the old classics and spruced up with up-to-date contents, for better or worse. And the series also have the likes of Jennifer Tilly, Devon Sawa and Lexa Doig on the cast list, so that was quite nice. And it was such a thrill to have Brad Dourif return to do the voice of Chucky, as there simply can be none other to voice that psychotic murdering doll. Especially since it is so much in tune with the spirit and the essence of the original movies, and let's just completely forget about that abysmal 2019 remake. Needless to say that I had to watch it, as I have seen all of the movies in the franchise and always found the movies enjoyable. ![]() I have to admit that when I stumbled upon this series, then I hadn't actually heard about it being made, so it was a surprise to find this. Especially if you enjoyed the original "Child's Play" movies. This 2021 series "Chucky" is such a blast. ![]()
